THE HOUSE OF CONGLOMERATION

A24-24 URVI MORE

My design began with observing how wave patterns form on the surface of water and how sediments settle to create these patterns. The movement of the tides constantly adds and removes material, showing a natural process of accumulation and erosion. This idea of accumulation of something gathering and then being taken away became the main focus of my concept.

I related this to the formation of dunes, where the wind and water gradually build layers of sand with different densities, creating forms at various heights and levels. I started by placing these dune-like forms and carving spaces out of them. The remaining edges began to shape the outline of the house. The walls represent the process of accumulation, while the level differences inside reflect the changing densities found in nature. Finally, the roof expresses the crest of the dunes, emphasizing how natural forces shape and reshape the landscape through continuous accumulation.
